Armor of this sort is exceedingly rare, and is often passed down from father to son, as is almost everything in the Mandalorian tradition. The reconnaissance version of standard Mandalorian armor became much more widely known after its use by Boba Fett. Fett's armor included upgraded systems within the armor, as well as fewer plates, allowing for extra mobility
